I've had a natural talent for drawing ever since I was young, but unfortunately it's not one of my skills that I've had much time to practice in my later life. Nevertheless, this has helped me to develop my sense of graphical aesthetics. Combined with 3D renderring and image editing programs, I'm free to use this skill without worrying about my less-than-perfect drawing and coloring abilities.

It started back when I was a novice webpage designer and I became sick of having to find the shabby yet appropriate graphics that other novice designers were using. You know, the cool but distracting background patterns and animated GIF files that are all too prevalent on Geocities and Tripod etc.. This was just one of the trademarks of amateurs that serious people have to leave behind at some point.
