Music For Games: Ruler of Ronark ILTrev Kameleon Dream Order of the Dragon Green Face |
Music for Games
Music requested for video games. I've been approached by a number of people to compose music for their video game projects. Unfortunately most of the projects listed here have either died or gone dormant, and I'll likely reclaim all this music later for Dragon Trek or another one of my own video game concepts. I've already transfered a few songs from Order of the Dragon to the Crystalstars soundtrack. This frequent disappointment caused me to strictly ammend my Music Request Policy with conditions that show to me that the game creators are both serious about and technically and physically able to create their proposed game project. No exceptions.
These are the game projects that I've composed music for:
Ruler of Ronark was a strategy game much like Risk, except taking place in a fantasy world called Ronark. You get to choose among several characters and you must build up your forces to conquer other provinces, your ultimate goal to possess the entire continent of Ronark. My personal favorite province was named Oxshirebridgefordham. ;) This is one of the games that actually did get completed.
This started off as just a theme request for the "Cyberknights" group the Iltrev was involved with. Later I heard word that he was planning to make a game and use the music I'd made him. I never heard very much about it after that, so all I can assume is that the project is dormant now.
Kameleon was working on an RPG using some sort of game creator software. I haven't heard from him in a number of years, so I can't be sure if he's just put it off, or if the project is completely dead.
A very ambitious project by Roko Zaper. I read the beginning of the script and thought it was pretty cool. I even saw a number of pieces of concept art. But it still wasn't enough to carry the project. I haven't heard from Roko in years, and I believe the project is dead.
Order of the Dragon looked to be one of the most promising game projects. The complete script was written by my friend Greywyvern (I met him because of this project), and the storlyline was very well done! Plenty of concept art, both drawn and 3D rendered. I heard word of the programmers implementing a 3D engine, but past that the project seems to have stopped. I don't know if it's for good or not. All I know is it's been several years, and I can't let all this good music go to waste...
Alex contacted me, telling me he needed some music for his game in a rush to get it to his publisher. He gave me a working game demo, which I was quite impressed with. I promptly developed the following pieces of music for the game, along with a number of sound effects. I never heard what happened to the project in the end. Alex said he would let me know, but it's been a number of years.
